A glimpse into the lives of those who sailed the seas, capturing the essence of a once great life, now cherished in memory. This collection is a tribute to the many Merchant Seamen over the years who hailed from the Western Isles.

I began my journey aboard the SS Oronsay in Tilbury in April 1964, having never before stepped onto the mainland. Eight months later, I returned home with a very different outlook to life.
